The colorful sculpture at the center of this image was used to create this angelic image. The sculpture was cut from Fire Obsidian from Glass Butte, Oregon. The iridescent colors are exposed by carving to the exact contours of very thin layers that run randomly within this rare form of obsidian. The sculpture was hand carved by Bart Curren.
